Line up!!

So, I’ve realized that with little guys, there tends to be some competition and lack of organization when it comes time to walk in a line through the hallway. I am constantly reminding my kids to not run, not walk out of the line, not go over and touch the fish tank. And in a second language, that is quite difficult at times. So, here is my proposed solution. I’ll have to give you an update on how it works in my classroom!
My goal is to assign numbers to students. I will do this either by giving them a number at the beginning of the day/week, or awarding good behavior with the first numbers, or just randomly handing them out before we line up. I’m sure there are endless possibilities for how to hand out the numbers. But, the key is that whatever number the student has, they must find the appropriate foot to stand by until we leave the classroom . . . AND they must be in the same order when we reach our destination. We’ll see . . .
